The problem with April Fools in the MySQL/web space
Truth already reads like satire. On April 1st people question; the rest of the year they often do not.
April Fools is hard in MySQL and web ops because production already outpaces fiction. Write a fully accurate post about how a query really executes and readers assume you invented it — unless you stamp a giant “joke” banner on an actual joke.
Useful corollary: a truthful post can still leave people unsure. Treat that as a reminder to keep skepticism year-round, not only on 1 April.
