MySQL InnoDB Performance Tuning (AUD 575 + GST)

A one-day course delving into the vast realm of the InnoDB storage engine, its architecture, diagnostic tools, and performance tuning. InnoDB is the most widely used transactional storage engine in MySQL. In many deployments it is used for many if not all tables.

While the default settings make InnoDB functionally usable, it is by no means optimised. The server's actual utilisation by an application, as well as the physical architecture (such as CPUs/cores and disk I/O) come into play. You may want to change some paths, look at the many other tuning options, and see how queries can be adjusted to take advantage of some of InnoDB's features.

The aim of this day is for you to gain the ability to do all that, with confidence! This course day is useful for DBAs who have practical basic familiarity with MySQL and InnoDB, but the day also has high value for DBAs who already have experience with other databases, as this topic is highly MySQL specific. Interactivity and exercises are an integral part of the day, providing an optimal environment for gaining new skills and reinforcing best practises.
